Poetry and artwork - Henry Denander

Here two old Miles Davis drawings. I've been listening to his music since 1971. Love everything he did (except maybe his comeback band and the music after 1975...). My favorite period is 1970 and 1971, especially after bass player Michael Henderson came into the band. I saw Miles Davis first time in Stockholm in 1973.  

I'm on Hydra, waiting for the warm Greek sun.
I made this portrait of Henry Miller, based on a black and white photo taken here on Hydra in 1939. He was here together with the poet Katsimbalis and they visited the painter Ghikas (Nikos Hadjikyriakos-Ghika) and stayed in his house here in Kamini. 

Been experimenting and doing some collages. 

I am on Hydra Island, doing some work but also I've been painting these last few days. Here some new stuff, hope you dig.

After showing an old painting of a guitar on Facebook I was asked by some friends to paint their guitars. Hard to resist even though abstracts are more my style. But I love guitars!

Here a Yellow Fender Thinline Telecaster, a Black Gibson Les Paul Custom and a Red Gibson SG.

Going to spend August here in Greece,
feels good to be back.
House and garden in good shape and
fresh figs now from our tree.
I'll bring out my painting gear and try to be productive.
Is there a Hydra motif I haven't tried to
paint yet?
Maybe take a slow walk in the port?
We'll see

The sun is shining on the houses down in the port. Even now in October the Greek sun is strong, Hydra Island is very quiet.
